Buxom Wildly Whipped Soft Matte Lip Color in the shade ‘Wandress’ retails for $21 at Sephora. I have read the many reviews on this product at Sephora.com. This product only got a three star rating. I swatched this product in store and from the swatch, I could tell that it does not dry down completely. This is not a matte finish, but that it leaves that velvety finish that I love. This liquid lipstick is one of my favorites. There is no magic in this product, you will need to reapply, but in my opinion I love this formula. Lately I have been obsessed with the velvet finish lipstick. I use a clear lipliner with this lipstick and I think it looks beautiful. The formula reminds me of another liquid lipstick I recently wrote a review on (that also had a misleading name) you can read what I feel is the drugstore priced version of this formula here.
This formula is a love hate type of formula (or maybe everybody wishes it were just called a whipped liquid lipstick and the word matte be left out). I personally love that velvety slip you get with products like this. For my preference this is just a very comfortable liquid lipstick in a gorgeous shade and I am happy with my purchase. If that velvet finish isn’t for you then you would not like this one. Am I saying you should rush out and buy it, nope. If you want to get an idea of the formula before you decide you can try the Loreal formula for $9.99 (you can get if for less if you wait for a coupon or a sale). If you like that formula you will like the Buxom one as well. I bought this product for the shade but I think the Loreal one is pretty much the same feel.
My only gripe, I wish all of these brands would stop calling every product matte. If matte is what I wanted, I would be very upset that I just spent this much money for a product that isn’t matte.
