This is the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Blur Primer. I purchased this product at Sephora for $52 which is a ridiculously high price…. So… Is it worth it???

The above picture is to show you the gold sparkle in this product. It looks like too much sparkle, but I promise you it is not. Read on to hear why.

The primer comes in a glass bottle with a pump. I love the gold and black. I think the packaging is simple and sleek.

This is the product pumped onto the hand, I wanted you to see the gold sparkle.

This is how beautifully the gold sparkle blends out. I will get into more detail below. It took some work to get this to show up on this picture, the light has to catch it right.

A close up of the sparkle. Again, the light had to catch it right.

I’m going to start with talking about the sparkle. It looks like it could be overwhelming, but on its own, it is pretty subtle. Once makeup is applied over this product you won’t notice that. In my opinion it gives your skin a healthy looking glow, but you do not see specks of glitter all over the face. The makeup covers the gold, but you get a radiant healthy look.

This primer is made with four nourishing oils; corn oil, apricot kernel oil, passiflora oil and rice bran oil. It claims these oils will leave your skin feeling incredibly soft….. My thoughts, that claim is true. I swatched this in the store and continued shopping. Later on I felt my hand compared to the other and the difference was unbelievable. My hand felt incredibly soft. I made the purchase. Now, I understand that there are silicones in this product and that will make your skin feel soft as well. I do not use this primer for everyday, I use this for a date night with the hubby, or any other special occasion.

This primer will last a long time because I am only using it for nights out or special occasions. One pump is all you need. It spreads over the face so easily. It feels moisturizing and it softens the skin immediately. I have concerns with dry skin, fine lines and pores. This primer absolutely blurred pores and fine lines while addressing the dry skin. It leaves no greasy or sticky residue at all. It just leaves your skin soft and smooth.

My makeup applied flawlessly over this primer. It applied evenly, did not break up at all and my fine lines and pores appeared diminished. My makeup did not sink into pores or fine lines, it did not cake or crease and I got compliments on how great my skin looked. My makeup held all day and night and when I washed my face my skin still felt soft.

Final thoughts: Am I telling you to break your bank on this product? No way! But if you are looking to splurge on a primer this one may be worth checking out. I am very happy with my purchase and the results of the product. Sephora has a great return policy too, so if you don’t like it you can return it even after you’ve used it. At the very least, if you are ever in sephora, just put it on your hand, rub it in, and feel how soft your hand stays all day. Keep in mind I am not affiliated with sephora in any way, nor am I affiliated with Saint Yves Laurent. I am not telling you it will work for you, I am just sharing my opinion and the results I got with this product. Everybody’s skin is different, and this product worked beautifully with my skin and makeup routine. This product will last me a very long time, and I will repurchase when it’s gone.

What are your thoughts? Would you ever pay this much for a primer? (I can’t believe I did). What is your favorite primer and why?
